Our Story
Bonjour, we’re Juliette and Joseph. We bid au revoir to our jobs in Silicon Valley and escaped to the French countryside in 2019. We wanted to slow life down and capture more of these fleeting years with our kids. We wanted a life change where we could work together on something we’re passionate about. That led us to this lovely 18th century restored mill house and hosting our “gites ruraux”.
As a binational, French and American couple, we enjoy welcoming guests from near and far. We value meeting new people and showcasing the lovely community, local agriculture and rich history of our region.
When we’re not working on the property, we love exploring, hiking, enjoying local specialities and embracing opportunities to learn new things.
Our family of four lives on the property and when we welcome you, we welcome you to our home.

Our Eco-responsibility
We aim to decrease our carbon footprint and welcome our guests to be mindful of waste.
Here are some examples of our eco intentions:
Linens
Your bed linens are 100% cotton and made in France. We do not iron bedding, that just wastes energy. They are just as comfortable with a bit of wrinkle.
Your towels are 100% cotton and made in Portugal. We aim to provide enough towels for your stay without going overboard to reduce our wash loads.
Furniture
Much of the furniture is made from recycled or repurposed wood. The sofa is not only comfortable but made in France.
Cleaning supplies
We use natural cleaning supplies based with vinegar and natural disinfectants.
Recycle and Compost
We have separate bins for recycling and compost. We compost on the property and are happy to take your compost safe scraps.
Reusable
We avoid single use items and provide items that are reusable.
Natural, plant filtered pool
We are proud of our natural, plant filtered pool that uses no chlorine or salt. It is an ecosystem that is clean and pleasant for you and the environment.
